Show HOOPER BOV DIES STCiPuraji Private Joseph Leo Jones, Co. R. 31th engineers, a son of Mr. and Mis. James H. Jones of Hooper, died Saturday Sat-urday night in the base hospital at Camp Upton, New York, of spinal meningitis, according to information received yesterday by his parents. Private Jones was captain of tho contingent con-tingent of troops which went to Camp Lewis from Weber county on May 25 lasL His parents wore informed several sev-eral days ago that he was ill with the disease and the news of his death soon followed. Soonaftcr arriving at Camp Lewis, Private Jones was assigned to tho engineers en-gineers and sent to Fort Benjamin Harrison, Ind. The regiment stnrtcd eastward about four days ago. The deceased was 25 years of ago and had lived in Hooper for many yoars, being very well known there. Tho body probably will be brought to Hooper for burial. Besides his parents, the following brothers and sisters survive: sur-vive: Charles P. Jones, Mrs. Addle M. Sanders of Salt Lako; Mrs. Ida M. Penman of West Weber; James M. Jones of Poterson; Mrs. Daisy M. Compton, Promontory Point; Eugeno D. Jones, Hooper; Mrs. Lula Parker, Ogden, and Miss Maudo Jones of Hooper. , , . |
