DUIKERS ACTING ADJUTANT Tlii following paragraph concerning ' a well known Ogden man who has been wiih tin American forces in France since last August, appears in the February number of "The Spiker". "Lieut. I) E. Rhivers of Company B has been appointed acting adjutant Oi 'he First battalion during the ab sence of Lieutenant Schunk. Company i B fears .that the temporary absence may become permanent, as coming events always 'cait their shadows be- lore. i "There is no more honest or sincere worker in the regiment than Lieutenant Lieuten-ant Rhivers, and ho deserves the best i the fates can bestow." The Spiker is a paper published by the privates of the Eighteenth regi ment of railway engineers, which has , bee.n doing important work with the American expeditionary forces for the past six months somewhere in France Recent letters received from Mr Rhivers by his family state that he is well and indicate that he is cheerful and optimistic as to conditions "over i there." No Inkling Is given as to the j location of his regiment, but the statement state-ment is made by the young man that I since his arrival he has been over al-I al-I most the whole of France, except that ! held by the invading forces, and that his travels have taken him to the bat i tlo fronts, |
