Show HOLLAND'S PROTEST IN WASHINGTON WASHINGTON. April 1 Holland's protest against the requisitioning of hr ships by the United States and Great Britain as published in the Official Of-ficial Gazette at tho Hague and transmitted trans-mitted in news cables, reached the state department today. Minister Garrett Gar-rett at the Hague cabled the document which was not sent as a formal protest pro-test although it is regarded here as such. It was handed to Minister Garrett Gar-rett simply as a statement of the gov-ernmeni's gov-ernmeni's views. Officials had not studied the statement state-ment carefully today, but it was indicated indi-cated that it was improbable any alteration al-teration of the action of the United States and her co-belligerents would be made. It is quite possible that not even a reply may be sent as the statement state-ment did not assume the form of a? i direct protest. |
