Show BLOWING UP U. S. PLANTS There are indications of another conspiracy working to destroy tue munition mu-nition plants in the United States. There were two explosions in 1914, twenty four in 1515. fifteen in 1916, and in the first twelve days of this year two tremendous explosions have occurred. In nearly every instance, mystery has surrounded the disasters and in a great majority of cases evidence of treachery has been disclosed. On Thursday the C anadian Car and Foundry Foun-dry company plant across the Hudson from New York was blown up and last night great quantities of powder at the DuPont Powder company's works at Haskell, N. J., were fired. Before these outrages grow to large proportions, the United States gov-ernment gov-ernment should offer the munition plants operating in this country the services of United States troops as guards, and extraordinary efforts should be made to run down the conspirators con-spirators and trace the criminals to their masters higher up. oo |
