Jones ,in.l Flying Instruetohr Albert Smith, all of whom are rated as skilful crOSSM countray fliers All will start at 7:80 a. in., and upon reaching Calexico and replenishing their fuel supplies, will dash across tlie border into Lower Low-er California to scour the country where Bishop and Robertson last were seen. Each of the machines Will carry supplies of food and water to succor suc-cor the missing aviators if they should be found. The motorcycle detachment of the aviation school here also will be pressed into service, it whs announced, an-nounced, the squad lea ing overland tomorrow morning for Calexico which will be the base for both men and airplanes. This base will be supervised by Major Frank P. Lahm, who left for that town today. Theodore Freziers, Carranza consul con-sul here, announced that a protest will be made if American troops are sent across the border to search for the missing men. It was further said that every assistance would be given aviators who cross the line. San Francisco, Jan. 14. According to a message received today at army headquarters here from Calexico, the flight of the airplane containing Lieutenant Lieu-tenant Colonel Harry 0. Bishop and Lieutenant W. A. Robertson. Jr., missing miss-ing from San Diego since last Wednesday, Wednes-day, had been traced definitely to a point about BO miles south of Calexico, but no information was available as to their actual whereabouts. The message was from Colonel Wil-ber Wil-ber E. Wilder, commanding at Calexico, Calex-ico, to Captain George C. Marshall, aid to Major General J. Franklin Bell and said. "The courso of the lost aviators, by reports from Independent and other sources, has been practically traced I from Campo to a point fifty milt s or more south of Calexico. The machine was seen in flight by Americans. Mexicans, Mex-icans, Chinese and Indians. Tin confirm con-firm all other reports. No one pretends pre-tends to have seen it north of the line unless at Campo earlier in the morning when it was near the line.
