Show CHICAGO POLICE FACING TROUBLE Deep Probe Being Made Into Corruption Ring Majority of Officers Involved. Chicago, Jan. 9. Further arrests were promised today by Macklay Hoyne, state's attorney, in his Investigation Investi-gation into alleged police corruption ring, whose vice manipulations! he charged, have netted thousands of dollars dol-lars annually. Mr. Hoyne charged "that a great majority of the police captains and lieutenants" of Chicago are involved in the scandal whclh resulted re-sulted in the arrests last night of I Charles Healy, chief of police, Margin Mar-gin White, a police lieutenant, and three others on warrants charging extortion, ex-tortion, intimidation and bribery. Following Chief Healy's arrest and subsequent release on bonds of $100,-Mr. $100,-Mr. Hoyne and several of his assistants assist-ants worked until almost daylight interrogating in-terrogating possible witnesses and ex jamining documents, said to contain evidence. In the early hours of the morning several persons were taken into cus tod in connection with the inesti- gation, among them four women, said . to be keepers of immoral resorts. War-' War-' rants were issued also for the arrest of three police officers, Lieutenant Ed-j Ed-j ward Grady, Lieutenant John Hartford land Sergeant John Naughton. the latter lat-ter being confidential secretary to j Chief Healy.
