Busch and sub- lumea oy secretary Casey: Mr Casey's report follows-To follows-To the Members of the Ogden Publicity Pub-licity bureau: During the year 1916 the publicitv bureau kept up the work of securing favorable publicity through articles for newspapers, magazines and other ! publications. We have letters on file I from the Associated Press and the In-! In-! ternational News service, proposing to handle news articles sent out through the Ogden publicitv bureau. The Associated Press already has used several news articles sent oui by the bureau, and these have been published in newspapers throughoui the country. The International News service has made a special request for a full page Illustrated story on the UU cel.-bration It is important thai this story be written and forwarded to Jk the New York office to be released as M ,lVhp arllcle of incorporation are filed. Wo have mailed over four thousand copies of Ogden newspapers containing special articles. ye have furnished photographs photo-graphs to all publications that would use them, together Avlth stories of Og-den's Og-den's Industrial growth. Tho bureau has continued to distribute dis-tribute road logs and give out reliable reli-able Information to tourists traveling through Ogden. Last September the secretary made tho trip from Ogden to Randolph, in Rich county, over the proposed Ogdon-to-Randolph road. A full report of this trip will be found in the minutes of the bureau under the date of October Oc-tober 13. During 1916 the membership and receipts of the bureau were Increased over that of the previous year. I believe the advertising censorship, censor-ship, as applied during the past year, has rendered a valuable service to the merchants of Ogden and in several Instances avo have been able to savo subscribers to the bureau more man tVinlr tntol nnnfrl hut lone fnr thr vpar One thing that I believe Interferes with the Avork of the secretary is the fact that most every other secretaryship secretary-ship for public occasions in the city has been made part of his work. During Dur-ing the past eight months I havo been secretary of the Intermountaln Good Roads association, the local chapter of the Rod Cross, the Twenty-fourth of July celebration, the Harvest Festival and Fashion show, tho Cache Valley Merchants' entertainment and several other minor events. AVhllo all of these affairs are of a public nature and deserving de-serving of support, they involve so i much detail work that tho secretary of the bureau is required to take considerable con-siderable time away from the Avork of the bureau. The bureau has on hand a limited supply of printed matter, photographs, negatives, halftones and etchings, upon up-on Avhich It would be hard to place a cash value. Tho following Is the financial report re-port of the bureau as audited by George F. Busch. Respectfully, JAMES P. CASEY, Secretary Ogden Publicity Bureau.
