Show ill- CLAIMS CAN BE RELD BJ SOLDIERS Soldiors, who are owners of Mining Min-ing claims, are to be relieved from all assessment work during tho period of service and for six months thereafter. A Joint resolution providing such relief re-lief has been adopted by both houses of congress and has been approved by tho president- Tho resolution follows: "Resolved by the seuato and house of representatives of the United' States of America In congress assembled, that tho provisions of section 2324 of tho re-Vised re-Vised statutes of tho United States, which requires that on each mining claim located after tho 10th day of May, 1872, and until patent has been issued therefor, not less than $100 worth of labor shall be performed, or Improvements made during each year, shall not apply to claims or parts of claims owned by officers or enlisted men who havo been or may, during tho present war with Gormany, so that no mining claim or any part thoroof owned own-ed by such person which has boon regularly located and recorded, shall be subject to forfeiture for non-performance of the annual assessments during the poriod of his service or until un-til six months after such owner is mustered mus-tered out of the service, or until six months after his death In tho service. Provided, that tho claimant of any mining min-ing location, in order to obtain the benefits ben-efits of this resolution, shall file, or cause to be filed, a notice in tho office where the location notice or certificate is record(jd, before the expiration of the assessment year during which he is so mustered, giving notice of his muster into the service of the United States and of his desire to hold Bald mining claim under this resolution." nn |
