Show j BATTERY 8 BOYS IE IT TO LEAVE Oi IXTfflRDAY The orders for the moving of the Utah troops to Camp Kearney, Linda Vista, Cal., on next Saturday have been cancelled and no orders will be Issued until after October 10. This information in-formation was received by Col. iVlfred Nasbrouck, commander at Fort Douglas, Dou-glas, yesterday and transmitted to Col. Richard W. Young, commanding the Utah artillery regiment. The telegram was from Maj. Gen. Arthur Murray, commanding the western west-ern division. The news was received with groans by tho artillery men before be-fore mess yesterday. They have been jubilant over the prospects of an early move and-when the news came that they would move Saturday there was great rejoicing. All who could went to their homes last Sunday firmly believing be-lieving it was the last time they would-have would-have the opportunity before leaving on the second lap of their trip towards tho battle linos in Europe. While the dispatch stated no reasons rea-sons for the delay, it is thought to be due to the still incomplete condition of the camp at Linda Vista. It is stated that a largo force is working day and night to complete tho camp, but several persons who have seen the camp recently state it will be a number of weeks before it is ready for occupancy. In the meantime the boys of battery bat-tery B are chafing at the delay. They have their minds made up to go and the orders for entralnment cannot come' too soon to suit them. oo |
