The Children's Aid society, which Is doing such excellent work for the children chil-dren of the poor besides offering a bit of sunshine to bring relief to the som-br? som-br? tones In which life is painted so much "just now, Is to give a card party and konslngton tomorrow afternoon at half after two at the club rooms of tho Maids' and Matrons'. Mrs. A. B. Coroy, who is president of the "society, and tho entire staff of offlcors and members will bo hostessos for the afternoon aft-ernoon whon tho ladles of Ogden will lend to this cause their presonce and substantial aid. The affair promises to be delightful In vory detail. Mrs. J. R. Cooper, who Is chairman, has left no stone unturned In the interest of its success. The Children's Aid so-cioty so-cioty was organized and' Incorporated April, 1910, and It Is tho only organization organi-zation of its kind In the state or inter-mountalu inter-mountalu country. Its aim is to befriend tired and discouraged dis-couraged mothers or possibly, change tho environment of a whole family and to find homos for the homeless. It seeks the unfortunate, crippled children chil-dren whoso parents are unable to give necessary medical attention. Many little lit-tle paralyzed limbs .have been made strong, hair lips have been closed and weak and sightless oyes havo been restored re-stored poor unfortunates that only through tho tlmoly assistance might have otherwiso gone through life under un-der disabled and hampered conditions. The socioty has at present under their supervision three children in the hospital, cosos that may take months to euro, but no worthy case Is over turned away. Aside from this a free dispensary Is maintained over Marshall's Mar-shall's Drug store, corner of Washington Wash-ington avenue and Twenty-fifth street, which Is open every Saturday afternoon after-noon from 2 to 5 o'clock. A trained nurse Is in attondanco. From this dispensary dis-pensary not only medicine but clothing Is given to tho needy, following an investigation of each case. Thero Is also an educational side of tho work. Each year a "child welfare" examination examina-tion Is held, any child In tho city under un-der tho age of 5 years being accepted. Through the kjndnoss of Ogden's physicians phy-sicians those children aro given a free examination and any defects found aro pointed out to tho mother that she may guard against or have them remedied. reme-died. All this good Is not accomplished accomplish-ed by tho twenty actlvo mombors of the socioty alone but tho co-operation of the good people of Ogden who make this work posslblo from year to year. Tho socioty acts only as custodians of tho money placed in thoir hands for those unfortunate waifs. Each citizen of Ogden may have a part In this work as no donation is too small to bo thankfully thank-fully accepted and the konslngton and card party tomorrow Is ono way In which tho Chlldron's Aid can give an opportunity to those who aro glad and willing to help.
