Show FREIGHT RATES HUE SUSPENDED For the benefit of shippers who had accepted orders for future de-l de-l livery based on present freight rates, ! the Interstate Commerce Commission has set the date for the making of the new rates effective ahead to December De-cember 30. The postponement was due to protests from the shippers and was decided on at a recent meeting of the commission held in Washington, Washing-ton, D. C. News of the decision reached Og-den Og-den yesterday in a telegram to General Gen-eral Agent W. H. Chevers of the Union Un-ion Pacific from C. J. Lane, general freight agent of the Union Pacific, with headquarters at Omaha. The telegram follows: "W. H. Chevers: East and westbound west-bound transcontinental rates advance published to becomo effective September Sep-tember 1 have been suspended by commission to December 30." nn |
