Show RYAN LAIS BEAVERS 6 TO 1 Los Angeles Wins Second of Series With Portland Beavers Beav-ers in One-Sided Game. Portland, Ore., Aug. 31. Jack Ryan, although age worn as far as baseball record goes, proved too much for the Portland ball athletes today and Los Angeles won In a canter. Score: Los Angeles 6, Portland 1. Ryan set the Beavers down with six scattered hits and was sufficiently effective to beat Allen Sothoron. However, Sothoron heaved a better game than the score would indicate. Joe Evans at third base let a bad hop get by him in the second inning with the bases full and this eventually eventual-ly paved the way for four Angel tallies tal-lies before the game was well under way. Ivan Howard's failure to keep awake on a snap throw to first by Roche, added another In the fifth. In the second sec-ond Koerner opened with a single to center, Schultz walked and Galloway singled Infield through the box, filling fill-ing the bases. Bassler's grounder took a wicked bound past Evans at third and two scored. After two were down Maggert singled to left, scoring two more. In the fifth Maggert again hit io left, took third when Roche threw to first and nobody covered and scored on Wolter's single to left. With Hag-erman Hag-erman in the box in-the ninth Schultz hit to left, was sacrificed down by Galloway and scored on McLarry's single through short.
