II THE NEW MOVE IN I WAR ZONE. I Russian troops are moving through I Rumania to attack the Austro-Hun- I garians from the rear. Crossing the I mountains between Rumania and I I Transylvania, they will he in a posi- I tion to work far below the Teutonic I forces defending the passes in the I eastern Carpathians and drive a tre- I mendous wedge into the heart of Hun- I gary. This may prove to be the most ef- f fectlve way of striking at the heart of Austria-Hungary and putting that i empire out of the war. ; Instead of the British and French attempting to break through tho I strongly constructed series of trenches ! and forts with which Germany has ! fortified its hold on northern France, ; the troops can be better employed on the eastern fronts, whero the way for I driving home a mighty blow is com- paratively unobstructed.
