Show EXCURSION PLEASES FARMERS OF DAVIS Kaysville, Aug. 30. One hundred farmers of the south end of Davis county returned to their homes last night much pleased with their day on the excursion conducted by the Layton Sugar company through the north end of the county. The trip was made by automobiles, the excursionists being drawn from the towns of Farmington, Cehterville, Bountiful and Woods Cross. Manager J E. Ellison of the Layton Sugar company was in charge and acted as master of ceremonies at a luncheon served in the warehouse of the Lay-ton Lay-ton sugar factory. An impromptu programme was car- j 1 ned out following the luncheon. The speakers were Jesse . Smith, Senator j J. W. Thornley, Francis M. Nalder, J. H. Robinson, James A. Eldredge, Arthur Ar-thur Hess and Harry Josephs. The latter part of the day was spent in continuing the trip to Clearfield. The beet crops were inspected over the entire route of the excursion and places of business visited. The day closed with a watermelon festival at Layton upon the return of the excursionists excur-sionists there, and the spin home immediately im-mediately followed. The exourslon ! was voted an immense success and Manager Ellison of the sugar company com-pany was the recipient of much congratulation con-gratulation because of It. |
