The president's face beamed with a broad smile. Chairman Adamson of the House Interstate Commerce committee said: "We will pass the eight-hour day bill introduced today in the house tomorrow. to-morrow. That will include the provision provi-sion for an investigation of the effect of the eight-hour day on the railroads. That, we believe, will prevent the strike." |
