A remarkable escape es-cape from serious injury, or even death, was experienced on the evening of the Fourth by Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Knight and a party coming from Pay-son Pay-son to Provo In Mr. Knight's machine. ma-chine. On the narrow turnpike between be-tween Salem and Spanish Fork the car skidded, and Mrs Knight, who was driving and trying to keep it on the road, lost control of the machine, which crossed the road and turned turtle, leaving all the occupants pinned pin-ned under it. Fortunately, immediately immediate-ly behind the Knight party was a car occupied by Dr. E. D. Woodruff of Salt Lake and Dr. Kelly of Grand Island, Neb. The doctors and their chauffeur at once came to the assistance assist-ance of the victims of the wreck, and, with other travelers, soon had all the people out In the Knight car were Mr. and Mrs. Knight, Mrs. Diantha Worsley, Mrs. Georgia Cluff and Miss Sena Christensen. Strange to say, none of them vas seriously injured. Mrs, Knight suffered a severe nervous shock and Mrs. Worsley and Mrs Cluff were slightly bruised. Miss Christensen Christen-sen and Mr. Knight were not hurt. |
