FARMERS RECEIVE II WE SI FROM SUGAR BEETS Since early this morning, clerks of the Amalgamated Sugar company have been constantly busy giving out checks to farmers for BUgar beets and It Is estimated that at 3 o'clock from $150,000 to $200,000 had been paid out through tho paying teller's window. The presont payment to beet farmers in the pgdon factory district will amount to a little more than $300,000 but It will not all be drawn lor a number of days. Tho entire payment to be made by the company for beets at this time, for the four factories, will be about $1,250,000 and tho next payment, December 16, will amount to more than $600,000. There will be a small payment again January 15. Many of tho farmers made their way to the banks to cash tholr checks and then visited tho county treasurer's treas-urer's offico to pay taxes. The treas- urer states that from $20,000 to $25,-000 $25,-000 was paid in taxes up to about 3 o'clock, as nearly as he could estimate.
