Rodriguez, General B Almeida and several other Villa chlef- B tains by Carranza forces near Madeira, H was announced tonight in dispatches M from El Paso to the state department m and the Mexican embassy. Almeida B was shot immediately, the message to B the embassy said, and summary exe- B cutlon of Rodriguez had been ordered B by General Gavira, commanding the B garrison at Juarez. B Ellzo Aredondo, ambassador desig- 1 nate of the de facto government of M Mexico, called at the state department B today and personally assured Secre- B tary Lansing that Carranza troops M had been dispatched to western Chl- B huahua with orders to kill or capture B all the bandits concerned in the slay- B ing of American citizens. He said ev- B ery Carranza soldiers in northern B Mexico would be pressed into service B if necessary. B In a statement later, Mr. Arredondo B declared that the men who lost their B lives had arranged to reach their B place of business before complete con- B trol of the region had been acconi- B plished by the Carranza forces. He B said they had been given permission B at their own request to pass through B the Carranza lines, although Amerl- B cans had 'been warned to keep out of B territory in which guerilla warfare B was in progress.
