Show , FLOOD WARNINGS Dangerous Situation Foreseen in White River Bottoms by United States Weather Bureau. Little Rock, Ark., Jan. 14, What was predicted would be the most dangerous dan-gerous flood in the history of the White river bottoms was foreseen in Little Rock today In an urgent warning warn-ing issued to White river cities by the local United States weather bureau. bu-reau. According to the warning the White river will reach a stage of 24 feet at Batesville Saturday night, 2S feet at Newport Monday, 26 feet at Georgetown George-town Thursday and 30 feet at Clarendon, Claren-don, Monday, January 24. Flood stage at Batesville is 18 feet; at Newport New-port it Is 2G feet, at Clarendon 22, and Georgetown 30 feet. Especial danger is apprehended because be-cause levees which wore destroyed in the disastrous floods of last August have not been replaced entirely. The Arkansas river is rising also, but serious danger Is not apprehended apprehend-ed on this stream. |
