Show MORE VON PAPEN PAPERS SEIZED Culpability of Recalled German Ger-man Military Attache Shown in Documents Found by British. London, Jan. 14, 5:22 p. m. Copies Cop-ies of correspondence seized from Captain Franz von Papen, recalled German military attache at Washington Washing-ton when he reached Falmouth on his way to Germany, have been turned over to the American embassy for transmission to the state department. They show that Captain von Papen made frequent payments to persons charged with the responsibility to blow up munition works and bridges In the United States. One entry shows that Captain von Papen gave $700 to Werner Horn, who was convicted of blowing up a Canadian Can-adian Pacific railway bridge at St. Croix, Maine. The day before this check was Issued, the Germany embassy em-bassy paid $2,000 in Captain von Pap-en's Pap-en's account. |
