Detectives and police were on hand to guard against any demonstration, dem-onstration, but few persons wero gathered gath-ered at tho station. Mrs. Frank, who accompanied the body of her husband on the trip from Atlanta, was greeted greet-ed by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Otto Stern, and others of Frank's relatives. rela-tives. Frank's' body was taken to an 'in-dcrtaker's 'in-dcrtaker's establishment near tho homo of his father, Rudolph Frauk. Several motorcycle policemen accompanied ac-companied the automobile carrying Frank's body from the station to Brooklyn. Otto Stern, brother-in-law of Frank, said tho funeral would be private. A close friend of the family said the funeral would take place tomorrow. Mrs. Rudolph Frank, mother of Leo M. Frank, gave out a statement today to-day in which she thanked the public for the kindness and sympathy extended ex-tended to the Frank, family. She said she and her husband had received receiv-ed a largo number of messages of sympathy from southerners during the past two days. She declined to announce an-nounce when tho funeral would take place. By 1:30 a quiet crowd of more than 300 people had gathered in front of the Frank home. |
