Canadian authorities are losing no time in acting act-ing on tho threat of German reprisals on Canadian prisoners for alleged 111 treatment of Germans interned at Amherst, Am-herst, N. S, It was said today that it was probable prob-able that the American consul at Halifax Hali-fax or Moncton, N. B., would bo asked to investigate the situation and forward for-ward his report of Berlin through the American embassy A dispatch from Berlin yesterday stated that it was reported there that Germans interned at Amherst, N. S , were not being accorded proper treatment, treat-ment, but this was promptly denied by the Canadian government. oo
