Show ICOiSIHffi THE EXT FASHION SHOW Whether Ogden will have a "Fashion Show" this fall will probably be decided de-cided at a meeting that has been ,. called for Friday night, August 27, at the Weber club. The call has been aeut out by John C. Culley, George i S Glen, Arthur Kuhn and C. A. Wright, four of the directors of last year's show, to the business meu of the city and Is as follows "Dear Sir: It is almost the unanimous unani-mous opinion 'of the business men of Ogden that a bigger and more elaborate elab-orate Fashion Show be held this year A meeting is therefore called of all the business people, to be held at the Weber club rooms Friday evening, August 27, at 8 o'clock. The meeting is tor the purpose of electing a board i of directors and to generally discuss this year'B festivities. It is urgent that you attend. Very respectfully, JOHN CULLEY, ARTHUR KUHN, GEO. GLEN, C. A. WRIGHT, Directors for 1914." In connection with the call, a "booster" herald has been sent out and this, in part, reads: "The event of the year in Ogden has been the Fashion Show. "It has been an occasion of general gen-eral reunion for the people of the city as well as the merchants, "It has brought the business people peo-ple of the city closer together. "It has been .acclaimed a worthwhile worth-while event by thousands of people outside of this city. "Every progressive city has a holiday holi-day and carnival season. The Fash-Ion Fash-Ion jSIiow is Ogden's festivity time. "The Fashion Show aids the wholesaler whole-saler If he takes opportunity of inviting in-viting his outside customers to the festivities and theu sees that they get to his place of business while here. "The Fashion Show aids the retailer retail-er because It brings more people from the outside than any other event of the year "By advertising and offering proper prop-er inducements to the visitors, the retailer, as well as the wholesaler, obtains business which he would not otherwise receive. "The Fashion Show has brought to the city a great deal more outside money than has ever been expended in making the show a success. , "The success of the 1915 Fashion Show depends on the business people of the city not a few, but the majority ma-jority must participate to hold up the standard of past years. "A good portion of the prominent business people of the city feel that Ogden can in no way afford to hesitate hesi-tate in making the 1916 show the greatest ever." |
