Assistant As-sistant Postmaster Rufus Garner stated sta-ted this morning, there will be one delivery on Christmas day, as it has been found more convenient for the employes of the office as wen as to the public to follow out this system. At the parcel post terminal. In addition addi-tion to this the clerks distributed 10.105 packages of lotters. On Saturday, Sat-urday, train Nro. 9. westbound, carried twelve cars of mail Into the city and this morning eight cars were brought in from the wt over the Southern Pacific The eastern trains have been delayed de-layed for a number of hours ever;, day for the past four days. No. 19 was due at 7.05 this morning and did not reach the city until nearly 1 p. m Train No. V due at 3.20 p. m , was scheduled to arrive at 8:45. The delay is ausexl by the transfer of mails east of Omaha, at Omaha and ; other cities en route. The Southern Pacific trains are running nearly on time |
