Show LONG DEATH LIST DUE TO AUTOS New York, Dec 2" Coroner's figures fig-ures show that the number 0f deaths In this city caused by automobiles has risen from 37 in 1907 to 177 for ele en months of 1913. Secretary of State .Mitchell May, who has made a study of these figures declares that while the Increasing number of automobiles la partly responsible for the increase , in accidents, pedestrians are also largely to blame. He favors a more rigid examination of persons licensed o drive motor cars and recommends , the creation of a special bureau for the prevention of street accidents It is also suggested that all automobile drivers be "finger printed." |
