Show HON LEAGUE SEASON OPENS WITH OGDEN PLAYING MURRAY Parade at 2:30, in Which High School Battalions, Fire Department Depart-ment and Autos Take Part Large Crowd in Attendance Knight and Raedel Oppose Sharon and Auer. The Union association league opened open-ed in Ogden today with the beginning of a week 8 series between Cliff Blankenship's Murray team and Dad" Gimlln's Ogden team. At 8:30, with Mayor A. G Fell of Ogden and .Mayor Huscher of Murra as the bat-tery, bat-tery, tho first ball went over tho plate and the gamp was on. Tho Murray team arrived in the city at 10 -10 a. m., today, 16 strong and with a small crowd of Murray "rooters," to keep them company. The 16 "strong" wore Thornton, Caveney( Menges, Auer, Changnon, Clynes, Cannon, Gay, Shader, Finch. Dawson. Brown, Crispi, Sharon, Ruegg and Blankenshlp. They went directly to tho Ropd hotel where they will make tholr headquarters durinc; tholr stay in the city. Preceding the game, there was a parade along Twenty-fifth street from the Union depot to Washington ave-nuo ave-nuo and from there to the Glenwood ball grounds The lino startod from the depot about 2:30 headed by two r.rlet battalions from the Ogden high school. Next in lino came a platoon of police with Chief of Police Po-lice W 1 Norton and Chauffeur Guy Nelson, bringing np the rear in the auto-patrol The next section Includ ed the automobile- trucks of the fire department, headed by Chief Canfleld 1 and following them came the major's party In automobiles. I he next section was headed by the ' Ogden players In "booster" automo- biles and following them came the .Murray plavers. The "Canners" wore attired in their new white suits and blue mackinaw coats and the Murray men wore blue suits and green maek-inaws. maek-inaws. A long line of automobiles loaded with fans, brought up the rear I of the parade. The clouds which overhung the, city and a light rain which fell during! the early afternoon, marred the plans of the "booster" committee for a big parade, but at the hour the game opened the rain had ceased, though the clouds still had a threatening aspect as-pect The closing of the city offices and a number of the business house3 for the greater part of the afternoon, coupled with a leave of absence glv-en glv-en ill clerks employed in the establishment estab-lishment that remained open, who de-hired de-hired to see the opening game, was largely responsible for a gathering of nearly 360V people at the ball park in spite of the threatening clouds.
