Show AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE I OBTAINS NEW LECTURER I Logan. March 15. Prof. J. H. Lin- I ford, director of the agricultural col- I lese summer school, has obtained Dr. B J. M. Gillette, head of the department of sociology of the University of North Dakota, as a special lecturer on rural sociology for the coming summer sum-mer school session. Dr. Gillette will give -twelve lectures, which will be open to all students. Dr. Gillette is the author of two books dealing with sociological problems, prob-lems, "Constructive Rural Sociology" and "The Family" and frequently contributes con-tributes articles along these lines to periodicals. He is president of the child labor commission of North Dakota, Da-kota, director of the State Historical E society and a member of a number 1 of educational associations. During his visit to the St. Paul convention con-vention last winter Dr. George Thomas Thom-as met Professor Clllette and pronounces pro-nounces him a man of broad culture and pleasing personality and a strong personality and a strong lecturer. , The college summer school will open June 1 and will run for six weeks. Because of this early opening, courses will bo concluded before the warmest weather. A strong aggregation aggrega-tion of the regular college faculty will be retained to give courses in agriculture, agricul-ture, agricultural engineering, home economics, mechanic arts, commence and general science Credits received for' courses pursued 5 makp toward a degree, and also are I accepted by the state board of educa- tion at their face value. 3 nri R |
