Show oo STRIKE BROKEN BY DRIVING OUT THE l.J. W. Salt Lake, June 12 More than 150 strikers and members of the I. W. W shipped out of Tucker and Its vicinity yesterday arrived in Salt Lake on board a D. & R. G. passenger train at 11.45 o'clock last night At Murray I their leaders ordered the conductor to i stop the train at Twelfth South street j The order was obeyed and about 100 of the strike agitators left tho train j amid cheers. They announced they j would walk from Twelfth South to the business district. The others left the train at the D. & R G depot and went to I. W. W. hall, W. South Tern-pie Tern-pie street The pollco offered no interference. in-terference. Tho strike ended at 8 p m, when Sheriff Henry East of Utah county shipped out 128 I. W. W. agitators agi-tators on a special train. They went to Provo. When tho train rolled Into Tucker, where many deputies and special agents of tho Denver & Rio Grande wero waiting to "round up" tho I. W i W. men, tho transients not only boarded tho train without resistance, but knocked deputies out of the way so they could procure seats. It Is now believed there are only twenty-four twenty-four I. W W's. In town; and those arrived from Denver and Pueblo after af-ter the special left. oo |
