Feb. 12 The Missouri supreme court today refuse to modify the Judgment of ouster against the Standard Oil company, ana the original order, ousting the com pany from the state, now stands. The original order was issued more than four years ago The opinion of the court today waj concurred In by five judges. Chie'j JudKe Lama and Judce Woodson dls ; sentlng The dissenting judges heid that to oust the Standard Oil com pany from the state would leave the aters-Pierce company in control Of I the oil business of Missouri. Henry C!a Pierce, by purchase, re- ! cently acquired all the holdings of th"' Rockefeller interests in the Waters-Pierce Waters-Pierce company The dissenting ' judges recommended that a commission commis-sion be appointed to take testlmoii . and determine what action should be taken in view of the changed oil sit nation in Missouri The petition to modify the ous'.er order of four years ago was made by I attorney! representing the Standard Oil company. The court in overruling. I the motion said that It now has no power to modify the ou8ter order, aa the time limit in which that might 1 have been done has expired. The OUBter judgment has been affirme 1 by the supreme couri of the I'niteaj Slates. The company paid a fine ofi S50.0U0 assessed against it but asked ask-ed to be allowed to do business in the state on condition that il complj with the laws. The original ouster order was en tered against the Standard Oil com pany of Indiana This company in asking for the setting aside of the j ouster, claimed that it no longer was connected with the Standard Oil , company of New Jersey, the holding corporation which had been dissolved by the federal supreme court |
