SHOCK KILLS LINEMAN howard L hunt meets tragic death on high tension wire salt lake dec 24 herald sleeting swift death through an electric howard li hunt a lineman employed by the bell telephone company lay suspended for thirty manu tes upon the deadly wires at fifth west and first north streets jester day afternoon before help was feam and his body was taken down hunts home was in lawrence kas he came here a short time ago from kansas alty and lived at the tuxedo house at south state street about 4 yesterday afternoon he was at on a telephone pole at fifth west and first south street P W thompson Thomp bon another lineman had also ascended the pole and was a few feet below hunt after cutting a cable hunt reached up to get a conductor As he raised hie arm his toot slipped and to save himself ha clutched wildly at the surrounding wires his hand closed upon a high tension wire instantly ha fell over three ther wire seeing that it meant death to leave him thompson made frantic cf borts torts to draw his companion to a of safety but lacked the strength to lift hunt who although only 21 year old was larger and heavier than thompson finding that he could d nothing thompson called for help A oung man who had witnessed the accident scaled the telephone pole but could do nothing thompson could not ailsa ats mate and the youad laan could not xo ta position from which be could lend his strength by this time hunt wag dead and his body hung limply from the wires thompson holding the body railing but powerless to jo more an alarm was sent to the fire department and a truck from no 2 company quickly reached the corner tha firemen took hunt from the wires and carried him to the ground
