Show HUNGRY MEN ARE FED ON . TURKEY Two hundred children were made happj' last evening at the Salvation Army hall on Twenty-fifth street, when thev were the guests of the army. A delightful program was ren. doied by a number of the young folks, after which the Christmas festivities commenced. A tall tree occupied a prominent I position on the platform and stirround- j ing the tree were boxes of nuts, can- dies and oranges, as well as several bundles of toys. Before the evening closed, each child was given a big bag of candy and a toy. Although J the place was so filled with children that it was hard to move around, no child was forgotten A large number of Christmas baskets bas-kets were delivered yesterday by members of the army.' Each basket contained a fat duck, several pouuds of meat, flour, potatoes, apples, butter, but-ter, and delicacies in the shape of fruits and candies. Captain Knap) estimates that each basket contained eighteen articles and cost about $5. As first planned, the Christmas dinner to be given to the needy was to be served In the army quarters, but this arrangement has been replaced re-placed by another. Tickets were giv. en to those who wished a meal and the holders of tickets met In the bar-I bar-I racks.
