Eighty of England's mqst famous paintings will reach Now York next week on the Campania to take thoir place In tho coming exhibition of old masters to be glvon here in aid of the Dickens' centenary fund, beginning April 2. Tho pictures are insurod, it is said, on a valuation of $2,000,000 The collection was gathered through a committee of prominent Englishmen, headed by Lord Chief Justice Alver-stono. Alver-stono. Tho Duke of Tock, tho Duke of Marlborough Marl-borough and Lord Denbigh are among those who aro sending pictures. Perhaps Per-haps tho most notable canvas Is the Romney portrait of Lady Hamilton. A special feature of the exhibition will bo three period rooms, representing represent-ing the Goorglanu, William and Mary and Chippendale periods, and an oak room from the Turin exposition.
