Show REUNION OF IHE BLOOBETT FAMILY One of the most noted gatherings of North Ogden thus far for the new year was that hold February 5, 1912, at tho reside -e of Groonloaf Blodget, Sr., in honor of the 80th birthday of his wife, Sarah Susannah Blodget, when ovor seventy of her posterity assembled to do honor to tho occasion, engaging in social convorso appropriate appropri-ate to tho occasion, Interspersed with a sumptuous spread of the most palatable pa-latable eatables of the season. A speech of welcome was mado by Isaak F. Campbell of North Ogden, responded respond-ed to by C. Maxwell of Ogden, followed fol-lowed with speocnes, songs and recitations re-citations by others of the assembly. A very enjoyable time was had by a present, extending Into the night, whon all disperse, the happy recipient, recipi-ent, with other returns of tho natal day, notwithstanding her successful arrival at tho four-score mark in hor sojourn on this 'mundane sphere." Sarah Susannah Blodget was a daughter of Tlmthy Garrard and Susannah Su-sannah Quantroll, was born Fobruary 4, 1832, at Diss, Norfolkshlre, England, embraced tho gospel in her native land and was baptized December 4, 1852, by Richard Waddlngton and confirmed con-firmed three days later by Eldor May-burn, May-burn, r She set sail for America at Liverpool Liver-pool on the ship International, February Febru-ary 28, 1853, in a company of 425 Saints, under the direction of Christopher Chris-topher Arthur, arriving in New Orleans Or-leans April 23, continuing on to Council Coun-cil Bluffs, whore she Joined tho cora-pnny cora-pnny of Jacob Gates and continued across the plain with ox team. She arrived in Salt Lake City September Sep-tember 30 and went into camp on the Pioneer squaie, stopping oer in the city until after tho semi-annual conference, con-ference, and sho did not reach North Ogden until October 20, but has resided re-sided here over since, except a sojourn so-journ of five years in Weston, Oneida county, Idaho Her posterity numbers 9 children, 55 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Six of hor children are still living, to-wit. Isaiah F. Campbell, Sarah S, Campbell, Caroline A Clifford Clif-ford and Greenleat Blodget of North Ogden and Benjamin R. Campbell of Iago, Bannock county, Idaho, and Frederick R. Campbell of Weston, Onqlda county, Idaho. Her active life among tho sick and afflicted, being set apart to that special spe-cial calling "with others by Bishop Thomas Wallace, and her many years of labor among her sisters in the' bro-fession bro-fession of obstetrics, 1b no doubt tho secret of her well prcBerved life, the ; snows of o many winters scarcely ' leaving their tinge of gray upon her |
