Show FALLS WHEN TRAIN IS DIVIDED The uncoupling of a passenger train at the Union depot this morning morn-ing Just as Mrs. Belle Dormer ot Los Angelos, was stepping from one coach to another, came near resulting re-sulting In a fatal accident The woman wom-an was precipitated between tho coaohes, her head striking on the rails of tho track, lnllicting a severe scalp wound. It Is the custo-n of the tralnmon on tho Oregon Short Line, who are In charge of. northbound train No. 13, to cut tho train at this point nnd to add a dining car. Usually before cutting cut-ting tho train the end doors or the platform gates are closed, which prevents pre-vents passengers from attempting to cross from one coach to the other at the time when the coaches are to bo parted It appears that thlB precaution precau-tion was not taken In this particular iustance Mrs Dormer was on tho train traveling trav-eling from Salt Lake to Wollsville. At tho very moment that tho coaehca parted she was stopping from one to the other In falling to the ground her head struck the steel rail. Tho shock of the accident, which was perhaps per-haps more serious than tho wound, made It necessary to remove the worn an to the Dee hospital, where sho will remain until sho recovers sufficiently to continue her Journey. oo |
