Show FIND STOLEN RIG Deputy Sheriffs Frank Ludwig and John Ellsworth were in Sait LaKe all day yesterday in search ot a man wbo hired a team of horses and buggy at the Dee &. brailh livery barn in this city Thursday nfternoon and failed to return tho same. Tho outfit, with tne exception of the harness, was located in a livery barn at Salt Lake, but the officers have not yet reported the finding of tho man " The stranger secured the toam and buggy from the local stable about 4 o'clock In the afternoon and promised to be back early In the evening. At midnight he had not put in an appearance ap-pearance and the proprietors notified the sheriffs office. A description of tho outtit was telephoned to nearby cities and towns at once. Yesterday morning word was received re-ceived that the horses and rig wero in a Salt Lako barn, and officers, accompanied ac-companied by two men who will bo able to identify the horse rustler, left for the capital city at once. They found that the stranger had evidently driven direct to Salt Lake. Upon putting the team In the barn ho took the harness with him, telling the pro prietor of tho livery that it was 'In 1 need of repair. It was round, however, how-ever, that he sold ihe harness for $4. OTflcers believe that the man is a pal of Roy Woodard, who was arrested ar-rested liere a few days ago when ho attempted to sell a horse and saddle at the Dec &. Smith barn for $16, and that the net of making' away with tho team and buggy on Thursday afternoon after-noon was an attempt at revenge for the part which the local liverymen .played In the apprehension -of Wood- ward. It Is thought that the man 'who secured the outfit had no intension inten-sion of .returning t6 the Salt Lake barn for the horses or buggy , rn |
