Show OtF IMPORTANT RULING ON MINERAL LANDS Au Important ruling, and one that shows an advancement In the efforts of tho mining men of the state of Nevada to prove their rights to tho mineral lands now claimed by the Central Cen-tral Pacific railroad company, has Just been handed down by tho dODart-ment dODart-ment of tho Interior at Washington. In June, 1905, a protest was filed against the granting of patents to the railroad company to certain lands In Limerick canyon. This land was granted to tho railroad company and patents were pending and only for the petition protests that were put In by John T. Rold and others of this county coun-ty the patents would no doubt have boon Issued, says tho Lovelock Re-vlow-MIner. The land In question Is whoro the great antimony deposits of tuls county coun-ty are located nnd which aro regardod as some of the best Ln tho state. The following Is a part of n letter from the assistant commissioner of the general land office at Washington, D. C, to the register and receiver of the Carson City land office: "Protests weru fllod there against tho Central Pacific Railroad company by the Antimony Company of America. Ameri-ca. B. F. Lcoto and others and John T. Reid and others, alleging the land to be saline and mlnoral In .charactor. "HoarlDTs were bad on tho protests of the first two parties above natuod, and by letter of Octohor 20, 1010. tho selection list was cancelled In part I and sixty days allowod the railroad j company to furnish non-mineral proof i as to the northoast quartor and south half of section 13, and all of section 23, township 29 north, rango 83 east, or to appeal or suffer furtnar cancellation cancella-tion of the selections list to that extent ex-tent "By letter of January 10, 1311, you furnished evidence of service on the railroad company through B. A. McAllister, Mc-Allister, Us land agent, on October 27. 1010, and reported no action taken.
