Show ENTERTAINMENT HT FIRST U. CHURCH The D. O. It. club entertained the nicmbors of tho Queen Esther society last night with a travel party on hoard I he steamship Carinnnla, leaving leav-ing Now York city and landing at Fat-fa, Fat-fa, Palestine. For tho ovening Uc First Methodist church was transformed transform-ed into an imaginary steamship The members of the party assembled assem-bled nt the street car depot and received re-ceived their Moamer tickets. GoinR to tho church they entered the building build-ing by means of a gangplank. From , tho baggage room the voyagers went to tho purser's office, where Puiser Dopew Falck examined their tickets. After they had seen tho pilot off there followed tho experiences of a voyago across tho Atlantic. Thore were deck sports and some of tho passengers pas-sengers becamo seasick when tho ocean becamo rough. Dm Ing the trip wlroloss messages were received from Ogden. The most pleasant feature 6f tho trip was tho course dinner, served In the main saloon This was a French dinner and the menu card bore u picture pic-ture of the ship. During tho dinner music was furnished fur-nished by Misses Holherg, Laird, Rammcy and Frey, while Mr. Wood, of Kansas City, added to tho entertainment enter-tainment with a recitation. Arriving nt Alexandria tho ship was boarded by a Turkish officer in tho person of H. It. Smurtbwaite. who examined the passengers' passports. Those in charge of tho ship were Captain Wlllard Smith, First Mato Allen Jones aud Second Mato Shrider. The trip was a most delightful ono and was enjoyed by about sixty persons. per-sons. nn |
