With tho per-fcctlon per-fcctlon of the first state organization tho formulating of plans for tho coming com-ing year, tho election of state officers and a general Burvey of tho work accomplished ac-complished by tho order during the past year, the first stato convention of the Knights of Maccabees of Utah was hold yesterday in the parlors of the Knutsford hotel, the morning session ses-sion having convened at 10 o'clock and tho afternoon and final session having been called to order at 2 o'clock. D. P. Markey, supremo commander of tho order, was present and delivered deliv-ered an address to his fraternal brothers. broth-ers. E. F. Kelly was re-elected stato commander. A resolution was passed Indorsing the creation of a general fund for the building and malntenanco o'f homes for the worthy infirm and aged of the order In tho evonuig a public reception was hold in I. O. O. F. hall in honor of ilr. Markey and at which Govomor William Spry delivered de-livered the address of welcome. Mr, Markey will depart for Denver this aftornoon. Kolly Presides. E. Stebbins of Salt Lake, chaplain; Dr A N. Hanson of Salt Lake, physician; Paul Lee of Ogden, master at arms; A N Martin of Park City, sergeant at arms, R. R. Greor of Bingham, first mastor of guards; E. P. Erlckson, of Richfield, second master of guards: Dr J. C. Hanchctt ot Salt Lake, delegate dele-gate lo tho supromo tent In Detroit, Mich.; A. N Martin of Park City, alternate al-ternate dolegato to supremo lent. The following committees systematized system-atized tho business of tho convention; conven-tion; Mileage, John Ivey, A N. Tho dato and convention city for next year was not decided upon yesterday.
