oo SALTA1R CLAIMS ITS FIRST VICTIM SALT LAKE CITY, Juno 18. David A. Evans, general superintendent of the Emma Coal company of Jackson, Ohio, strangled to death In tho water of Great Salt Lake this afternoon. Mr. Evans baa boon touring the west sluco June 5th and was bathing in tho lake tills afternoon Ho was discovered by Fnccfators onr the pier lloating faco downward In about three feet of water. Ho was quickly taken from tho water, and while hla heart was still beating, an hour and a half of work failed to resualtate him. No one saw hlra strangle but it Is believed be-lieved that being unfamiliar with the extremely saltiness of tho water he drew some of the brine Into his lungs.
