IL is reported in railroad circles bore that the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad company has purchased a large tract of land Joining Join-ing tho Geneva resort, ou tho north, for tho purpose, It Is said, of erecting a small wharf and bqlldlng for a pleasure resort and landing for nil kinds of iboats plying tho waters of Utah lake. According to tho Information Informa-tion given out tho railroad company will put a large flatboat on the lake for oxcurslon purposes, as woll as to get into line with Moslda and other recent farming projects on the weBt shore of tho lake. The shipping across the lake from the Provo side has assumed considerable proportions and it is generally conceded that this shipping will Increase from year to yenr. It has been reported that the Rio Grande would build a branch line of road along the west shore, of the lake, making a connection botween Lehi on the north and Goshen on tie south, from which .point the road would be continued on to Lehi, but tho plan of a line of boats from Genevn, near Provo, will bo the most feasible for the present, as supplies and products can be carried across the lake In flat boats at a very small cost. |
