Show SURVEYS II ATIRKHAM Brigham City, March G During the past week the Oregon Short Line company com-pany had a corps of engineers in this city and vicinity running a number of surveys for the proposed spurs and sidings that the company intends building tho coming summer Among the spurs under contemplation is one from a point on the main line about one mile Fouth of the depot, to extend ex-tend into the orchard districts of the southwest part of the city and benches bench-es The line will bo practically one mile In length, terminating at the county road. A. F. Brower of the company estimated esti-mated the cost of this spur at between be-tween $10,000 nnd $15,000. Tho railroad rail-road yards in this city aro inadequate inade-quate for the handling of the company's com-pany's own business, said Mr. Brewer while in the city, and Increased track-ago track-ago in the yards will undoubtedly be made during the year. A survey also wa3 made along the bottoms of tho Box Elder creek through town to a point southeast of tho city, commencing one mile north of the deK)t on the main line. This lino, if constructed, will traverse the big fruit section on the flnts northeast north-east of tho city and south to the fruit belt lying southeast of town. |
