Show BOYS MAY BE SENT TO PRISON In tho criminal division of tho district dis-trict court tills morning Clarence Peterson, Pet-erson, R. C. Whito nnd Joseph Eastman East-man wero arraigned on the charge of burglary Peterson pleaded guilty and the time for passing sentence was set for Monday, Fobruory G. On the suggestion of tho attorney for tho other two boys, tho time for receiving their pleas was postponod ono week. There Is a disposition on tho part of tho offlcors and tho court to find soma solution to the problem of punishment pun-ishment to be inflicted on Eastman and Wblto. other than a penitentiary sentence, the opinion prevailing tha't bojs of such ages should not bo sent to the penitentiary. It Is thought that within a week's time arrangements may bo made to send the youngsters to the reform school. Thero enn bo but little mercy extended ex-tended to Peterson, for ho had been given a chanco to do bettor and spared spar-ed a term In the penitentiary. It was not long ago that he was arrested for stealing a horse, but upon his explanation, ex-planation, that he did not think he jyas stealing and that ho tried to find the owner of tho animal, the court on the recommendation of tho district attorney, released him from tho charge and ordered that he be liberated. liber-ated. The officers now feel that the boy deceived them and that he should ho punished for the offense to which ho now pleads guilty. Eastman nnd Whito stated to tho court this morning that thoy are 18 and 19 years of age respectively.
