Manager Hickenlooper of the Pioneer Fruit company resides at Pleasant View and ho roports that the storm did good to the orchards and farms in the vicinity of his home. The fruit men say there will be a good crop of fruit In this county this year, particularly peaches and apples. There Is no change In the situation since a fow weeks ago. The peach crop Is safe, and there will be a great abundance of apples. Mr. Valentine Val-entine and Manager C M. Clay of the Ogden Fruit Growers' association, associa-tion, were tree to sa today that a recent examination of apricot and cherry trees leads to tho conclusion that March fruit ol those varieties will be gathered from the orchards, notwithstanding the idea has prevailed prevail-ed that apricots and cherries wero practically annihilated by the erlv fiosts. They say that while the crop will not be great in quantity, it will be of the best quality and "that the orchardlst will realize a good price. Preparatory work for handling of the fruit crop is now going on in nil the fruit exchanges of tho city. The markets arc being carefully studied. The Utah Fruit Exchange, "under tho direction of Manager James White, this year will be the medium through which a great deal of the fruit of tho state. In the section of country between be-tween Bear River and Mapleton in Utah county, will be plnccd upon the market. A number of fruit growers' asboclatlons have formed the exchange ex-change for that purpose. Manager White will not purchase a box of fruit, but he will sell It for the grow-ers, grow-ers, either to buyers at homo or to j tho general market east. A Hlckenlnoper of tho Ogden Fruit Growets association has resigned his position to take up the management of the Pioneer Fruit company. Mr Hickenlooper sai that he does not expect to buy direct from the growers, but that his company will depeud largely upon the I Utah Fruit Exchange to find the fruit they need for the market He states j that the Weber county Held is looked on with so much favor that President ' C.
