Conra for tho purpose of showing the latter that It would be impossible for him to be elected and with tho agreement thereafter there-after this unusual test of strength Mr. Conrad should withdraw from the race Mr. Conrad likewise denied that ho had entered into any such arrangement arrange-ment with his opponent and similar denials were made by leading supporters support-ers of the two candidates Tho fact that at no time since the balloting began be-gan has the combined vote of Walsh and Conrad been sufficient to elect, and the additional fact that since tho hnllnHnfr avai-v nfimncrnt Kn -m Tunc at one time or another voted either for Conrad or Walsh, has led many to believe be-lieve that the election of either Is an Impossibility, and caused the afternoon story of tho alleged dc'al between the two candidates for the purpose of ascertaining as-certaining just who was blocking the election, to receive much credence. ; With a caucus will In circulation and signed by 42 of the 53 Democrats, there Is tonight little prospect of tho call obtaining the necessary flfty-ono signatures. This situation has caused a general uneasiness among the Walsh sopporters and there were Indications today that there soon would be a general gen-eral dissolution of the Walsh strength. Mr. Walsh today received the lowest low-est vote he has received since the second day of the balloting. In his losses are numbered two men who have voted for him on evorv previous ballot. They were Senator Aufley and Representative Crouch, both of Broadwater Broad-water county. The former cast a complimentary vote for former Mavor Pursell of Helena, and the latter wont directly into the Conrad camp Mr. Conrad's, total today was unchanged, un-changed, the accession of Representative Representa-tive Crouch being offset by the absence ab-sence of Representative Alley, and the gain of Representative MacDonald, who has been casting complimentary votes on the last few ballots, being offset by the olectlon of Representative Representa-tive Mooro of Silver Bow, who jdined the scattering column.
