Cache Soldier Awarded Medals Corporal Grant Howard, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Howard of Smithfield, now a patient at Bushnell general hospital in Brig-ham Brig-ham City, has been awarded a medal for distinguished service, the purple heart, and three oak leaf clusters and three bronze stars for service In three major campaigns in Africa, Tunisia and Cicily. Serving with the Fifteenth Infantry In-fantry division In the third army. Corporal Howard was wounded November No-vember 10. 1942 and again last August 6. He received treatment in an African hdspital before being be-ing transferred to Bushnell this month from a Texas hospitel. His wife, the former phyllis Buckley of Providence, is employed employ-ed by the American Red Cross at Bushnell.
