Show EVERYONE IS ENCOURAGED TO VOTE It should be the desire of every voter to go to the polls Tuesday next and cast a vote for the- men he or she prefers to represent the party ; t the general election in Novmber. The Primary election takes the place of the old system of nominating conventions where representatives from each voting precinct would meet and name citizens 'to represent their party. Under this new plan every one has the privilege of voicing their preference thereby taking the responsibility away from a few so-called party leaders. Consequently the voter must vote only one party. The ballot will be a double affair, perferated down the center. The voter choses either the Democratic or Republican Repub-lican half, marks it as he desires then separates it along the perferation. He hands the voted portion to the judge and places the unused portion in a receptical provided for that purpose. The judge then returns the voted ballot to the voter who then deposits it in the ballot box. v Some seem to think there is no need for their going to the polls Tuesday because the results are not final as far as the men taking office are concerned. It is important however for in no other way can the elimination of political politi-cal aspirants be effected. The man in each group receiving the majority of votes becomes the party nominee. His name will then be placed on the official ballot in November. We urge that you exercise your franchise next Tuesday. |
