Show Suggestions Given to Cache Dairymen Cache farmers are urged to expend ex-pend every effort to harvest straw and put it up in a good stock to be used during the winter for bedding to keep the cows clean, by County Agent R. L. Wrigley. Good straw well preserved can also be used for some roughage for horses and dry stock. We are compelled, according to government regulations, to produce pro-duce clean milk and there Is nothing no-thing that is better than plenty of good straw for bedding to help the farmer to attain this goal, Mr. Wrigley' said. Every effort should be made to conserve straw while it is fresh and in a clean bright condition. On those farms where market milk will be produced for Salt Lake, farmers should make an effort ef-fort to begin to hard-surface their corrals in order to keep the cows out of the muck and wet, Mr. Wrigley further 'suggested. This will require much less effort to clean and make It easier to produce pro-duce a good product. Some farmers farm-ers In the county have already made headway by putting In layers of rock and then cementing over the top with a thin layer of concrete con-crete which serves the purpose very well and can be done usual-i usual-i ly with the family labor and without with-out much cash outlay. |
