Show CITY COUNCIL. Council met in special session. Acting Mayor Luke in the chair. Prayer by councilor Anderson. Roll call ail present except Sho-maker Sho-maker and Bessey. Acting Mayor Luke stated the object of the meeting vk: the takiDg iuto consideration con-sideration of the fencing of the city lot, and such other business" as may come before tho meeting. On motion the matter of fencing the city lot was taken up. Moved and seconded tuut the committee com-mittee on public improvements with Luke added, take immediate sleps to ascertain the costs of different kind3 of fence, to make specifications and to re' port at the next meeting. Reid moved that the. report he accepted ac-cepted and that Mr. Bench be authorized to send for eiiflicient steel wire fence for the purpose named, 11 jed wood posts 6x6 inches, two srnall gates and two large gates. Carried. Moved and seconded that tire committee take immediate im-mediate steps to obtain otkfr necessary material and prepare for the erecting ot the fence around the city lot. Carried. Cox moved that $300 or as much thereof there-of as necessary be appropriated tot pay for the erection of said fence. Carried- OTHKli BUSINESS. Councilor Bessoy in behalf of, Mrs. Sophia Smith presented a verbal petition peti-tion to the citv council asking that the water at present in the yard be tuken into her house and that the ciiy take back the hydrant at present in possession posses-sion of Mrs, Smith. Ui motion the petition was referred to tho superintendent superin-tendent of water works to ascertain the cost of taking the water into the house to report at the next reguiar meeting.
