Show Lark Boy Injures Hand : 1 Bert Serassio, the 9-year-old son of Bert Serassio, foreman of the Bingham Mines Company, met with an unfortunate accident at the rear of his home on Saturday Sat-urday afternoon. It appears the little fellow had found some blasting caps around a disused cabin, and with a determination to investigate their contents, stuck a nail into one of the caps and hit it with a hammer, which resulted in the cap exploding, tearing off the top of his forefinger fore-finger and thumb of the left hand. He was immediately removed re-moved to the County Hospital at Salt Lake, where he was taken in charge of by Dr. F. E. Straup, county physician, who amputated the remaining portions of the mutilated members. He was removed re-moved to his home on Monday, where he is making satisfactory progress. |
