Show 'Fish & Game Club i ! Active Now; More Members Needed i Geo. Skinner, secretary of the Beaver County Fish and Game club, states that the activities of the club so far this season far surpass the work done in any one season in the past. The fact that the season is so far advanced has given the club a chance to get work done much earlier than is usually the case. Among things already accomplished are: First, work on the new road from the Beaver river to the amount of S106 has been done. This consisted consist-ed of cleaning off the debris which always accumulate on mountain roads every winter. Also the curves were widened aud gravel put on places where it was needed and drainage ditches were enlarged and grades eased. Second, the rearing pond dam was raised and strengthened and soon the pond will he stocked again for the 1927 season. A great many people do not understand what these rearing ponds are or what their object ob-ject it. They are small ponds made by building little dams across the streams at suitable places and in these ponds small "fry" are put and kept until the little fellows grow to be four or five inches long, and then the water and the fish are turned loose into the main stream where they will have a good fair chance to fight for existence or be caught by some lucky fisherman. These ponds are proving to be of immense benefit bene-fit to the fishing. Third, the ICents lake road has been re-located along part of the way and is now opend as far as Taylor's Tay-lor's hill; that is, as far as any new work has been done on that road. From that point on up to the lake the old road is still used. $483.00 was the amount spent on this road this year. Fourth, the road to the hatchery has brjen fixed and graveled. Fil'fh, a road has been built from Taylor hill to Cy's Cache. Sixth, a large number of fish have already been planted in the reservoir and Hi-Lo lake. The hatchery, besides be-sides supplying these fish, has made shipments to Cedar City and Paro-wan Paro-wan for stocking streams In Iron county and at the present time has still about S0O.000 fry on hand. As soon as the season advances a little more a survey from the big flat to Lo Barron meadows will be made for a road and plans for the enlarging of the lake there will be considered. Later in the season fish will bo planted in all the waters of Beaver county from Minersville to the Indian In-dian creek and from South creek to Puffer's lake. No county in the state is planting plant-ing more fish than are being planted plant-ed in P.eaver, and no club is more active in working, Dot only for the interests of the sportsman, but In actual construction work, such as increasing in-creasing the water storage in the mountains and building and bettering better-ing the roads, than the Beaver county coun-ty club.
